Nadda chairs UP meet, says no riot took place in 4 years

Crediting the Yogi Adityanath government with an improved law-and-order situation in Uttar Pradesh, BJP national president J.P. Nadda on Friday said that not a single riot took place in the state in the last four years. CM Adityanath made UP free from hooliganism, terror and violence, he emphasised.

Nadda, while addressing party leaders in Uttar Pradesh, a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several projects in Varanasi, said that the works of PM Modi and CM Adityanath should be taken to the public.

Political experts in UP believe that the BJP has already started preparing for the Assembly elections due next year.

Inaugurating a working committee meeting of the party through video conferencing, Nadda said that four years ago the state was afflicted by appeasement politics where a particular caste used to get benefits and the other faced harassment. “But if we talk about the last four years, then the state has come out of this epidemic and has become a leading state in the country,” he said.

Nadda asked party leaders in Uttar Pradesh to give a befitting reply to those “who misled people” on Covid vaccination. “Give ‘muthtod jawab’ (befitting reply) to BJP vaccine jibe by ensuring vaccination to everyone above 18 years. One of the UP leaders called it the BJP vaccine. It is another thing that his father got vaccinated and he too got the jab eventually. However, by this statement of his, he showed the narrowness of his vision. Compare what the PM did. Those with such a narrow mindset, can they run UP? UP will give them a befitting reply,” he said.

Comparing the regimes of BSP and SP with that of BJP in Uttar Pradesh, Nadda said: “This is the same UP that was in the grip of communalism and appeasement, corruption, dynasty politics. Today, we speak about progress. In the last four years, it has become one of the leading states of the country. Be it SP or BSP, UP has rejected them. They have been restricted to homes. And now workers of BJP have a greater responsibility towards people.”

After Nadda’s address, CM Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh has the capacity to conduct four lakh Covid tests every day. “Uttar Pradesh is the first state in the country to conduct more than 6 crore tests. We don’t have to be careless about corona now,” he added.
