Q. Congratulations Deep for your upcoming movie! Can you share your initial thoughts and feelings about this exciting opportunity?
A. As the title of our film Je Jatt Vigad Gaya suggests and as expected, this movie has action, romance and even family drama. My character is that of an energetic girl and you will see many variations and various shades in the role that am playing. I am very excited about this film and am sure you will enjoy once it reaches the silver screen in May 2024.
Q .What can you tell us about the upcoming movie and your character? What drew you to this project?
A. When I first received a call from Manish ji, I heard the story with him. And immediately I felt blessed that I got a chance to do this particular role. And I am so glad and thankful that I am a part of this amazing film.
Q. Tell us about the experience woraking with the team?
A. I enjoy a very good equation with the Director and in fact the whole team. Manish sir has been kind and has always guided me at each and every step. Jay, who himself is a big star is also very helpful and shares his valuable inputs as to how we can better it. The atmosphere is just a family setting and when you get this kind of support then automatically the best comes out in the shape of your performance.
Q. Have you had discussions with the Director about his vision for the film and your character’s development?
A. Myself and Manish Sir have had a lot of deep discussions about the character that I am playing in the film. We have discussed as to how we can do a particular thing in a much better way and elevate it. I am working very hard in terms of looks, diction and body language of the character.
Q. As you embark on this journey, are there any specific actors or actresses you admire or draw inspiration from for your debut?
A. I have always been in awe of Neeru Bajwa ma’am and I also really like the work that Sonam Bajwa is doing. I simply like their performance and get excited after seeing their work. I honestly feel that whatever character I play, I should be able to project that the people should think that it’s not me ‘Deep’ but it’s the character that should become a part of people’s lives.
Q. Do you have any particular aspirations or goals for this project, both personally and professionally?
Isn’t it a fact that everyone is looking out for applause from the people around us and even in our regular life ?
A. We as actors are no exception, as we also love it when viewers love our work. As of now, our thought is that we need to bring to the fore, the hard work that we are doing for the film. Our team right from the Director, Producer, Co-Producer have contributed a lot in their own way and that is why we all are so excited for this film.
Q. Can you offer any words of advice or encouragement to others who may be looking to make their debut in the film world?
My advice for anyone who A. wants to get into the industry is that first of all have faith in yourself and possess self-belief. One should stop taking advice from anybody and everybody, that’s why belief in your self is important. Continue doing the work that comes your way and along with this, your actual learning will start which will hold you in good stead in your career. This way you open many new vistas for yourself, as you start honing your craft even further.
Q. Can you share any insights into the expected timeline for shooting and when the project is expected to be completed?
A. The movie is slated for a release in May 2024, shooting is about to start soon and hopefully in a little more than a month, the shoot will finish and then the rest of the post-production work will commence. We are eagerly awaiting the day, when it will release.
