Mumbai police counsels couples, resolving 54 disputes this year

The Crime Against Women cell, established by the Mumbai police a decade ago, has been actively involved in counselling warring couples, leading to the successful resolution of 54 disputes since January this year. Comprising 42 mostly female constables, the counselling cell addresses issues between husbands and wives, demonstrating effectiveness despite lacking formal training. The cases range from serious concerns such as joint family pressures, illicit affairs, and dowry demands to more trivial matters like social media disputes or birthday celebrations.
