Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut announced that AAP leader and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has been invited to the Maha Vikas Aghadi’s (MVA) rally in Mumbai on May 17, which will mark the end of the campaign in the city. Mumbai is scheduled to vote on May 20.
Raut stated that Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray personally invited Kejriwal, who accepted the invitation. He mentioned, “On May 17, MVA’s final rally will be held. So we have invited him and he has accepted the invitation. Narendra Modi is also in Mumbai the same day; Arvind Kejriwal will be on MVA’s stage.”
Senior leaders from Congress and NCP (Sharad Pawar) are also expected to attend the rally. NCP (SP) supremo Sharad Pawar is likely to be present as well.
A total of 13 Lok Sabha seats, including 10 from the MMR region and Dhule, Dindori, and Nashik, will go to polls on May 20, marking the fifth and final phase of elections in Maharashtra.
Kejriwal, who was granted interim bail till June 1 by the Supreme Court on Friday, had been in Tihar Jail in connection with an alleged money laundering case related to the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy. The bail was granted to allow him to campaign, although his plea for bail until the counting of votes on June 4 was rejected.
