The ongoing spell of dense fog continued to affect more than 20 districts in Rajasthan on Thursday, impacting daily life in rural areas of Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Churu. The fog has slowed down vehicular movement on roads, and train services are also experiencing disruptions. Additionally, the fog has led to an increase in road accidents in some districts, resulting in casualties and injuries.
The meteorological department predicts the possibility of light rain in some parts of the state at the beginning of the new year. For the past week, five districts (Sikar, Ganganagar, Bharatpur, Jhunjhunu, Churu) have been experiencing dense fog, affecting visibility and causing travel delays.
While the hill station Mount Abu recorded a minimum temperature of 2.5 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 20.5 degrees Celsius, other cities in the state reported varying temperatures. Pilani recorded a minimum temperature of 6.0 degrees, Churu 6.1, Ajmer 7.5, Sri Ganganagar 7.7, Bhilwara 8.2, Jaisalmer 9.4, Jaipur and Kota 9.8, Chittorgarh 10.2, Bikaner 10.3, Udaipur 10.8, Ajmer 12.3, Barmer 12.5, and Jodhpur 13.4 degrees Celsius.
The meteorological department anticipates the continuation of these weather conditions in the coming days, with the possibility of rain from December 30 as a system approaches Rajasthan from the Arabian Sea, particularly affecting the southern and western parts of the state.
