More skeletons tumble out of conversion closet, ATS now looks for 8 persons from Kanpur

Eight persons from Kanpur were in touch with Mohammad Umar Gautam and his organization, Islamic Dawa Centre (IDC), sources have told The Daily Guardian. There are one or two clerics (maulana) among them. These people used to participate in the meetings of Umar in or around Kanpur and mobilise the crowd.

The Crime Branch also told The Daily Guardian that UP ATS has so far arrested five accused in the conversion case. First, Umar Gautam and Jahangir were arrested. After taking remand, both of them are revealing secrets one after the other. Based on this, ATS has prepared a list of people associated with them.

In this, the names of eight people of Kanpur are also included. The list has been given to Kanpur Police. The investigating agency suspects that they also have a role in the conversion case. One by one, information is being collected about them.

The ATS has decoded the code words. One code word remains to be decoded. A total of seven code words have come to the notice of the ATS with which the deaf and mute children involved in the gang used to talk.

A source told The Daily Guardian that the deaf children used sign language and some codes were prepared for them. All these have different meanings. These code words were used to provide or receive information ranging from being out of reach of the police to foreign funding.

The Crime Branch also told The Daily Guardian that UP ATS has so far arrested five accused in the conversion case.
