RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat took part in a special puja at the renowned Dagdusheth Ganapati pandal in Pune, Maharashtra. The event marked the commencement of the ten-day long festival, celebrated with great fervor across the state.
This year’s theme for the pandal’s decoration pays homage to the under-construction Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. In a solemn ceremony, Bhagwat conducted the ‘’pran pratishta’’ (auspicious installation) of Lord Ganesh’s idol at the Dagdusheth temple, where the grand pandal stands tall.
Earlier, a grand procession featuring all five revered Ganapati idols – Kasba, Tambdi Jogeshwari, Guruji Talim, Tulshibag, and Kesari Wada – paraded through the city streets, accompanied by enthusiastic devotees, adding to the festive cheer.
In order to maintain order and safety during the celebrations, a contingent of police personnel was deployed strategically to ensure that no untoward incidents disrupted the festivities. The security measures were put in place to allow the people of Pune to revel in the spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi without any worries. The Dagdusheth Ganapati pandal, known for its stunning decorations and traditional ceremonies, has been a focal point of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Pune for years. With the presence of Mohan Bhagwat, the event held even more significance, marking the blending of tradition and contemporary reverence for Lord Ganesh.
