An earthquake tremors felt in Central and Southern parts of India, in wee hours of early morning this Sunday. In a several tremors, an earthquake measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale stuck Madhya Pradesh. On southern part, town of Nandigama in Andhra Pradesh’s NTR district hit lite earthquake strikes, no loss of lives has been reported. The earthquake struck Dhar, about 151 kilometres southwest of Indore, around 1 p.m., according to the National Centre for Seismology.
According to the agency, the epicentre of the earthquake was 10 kilometres beneath the earth’s surface. In Andhra, according to sources, the tremors occurred at around 7:13 am on Sunday and lasted for 3.4 seconds. Fearful residents rushed out of their homes onto the streets. Narasimha Rao, a resident of Nandigama village, said, “For a few seconds we noticed an earthquake in the village. A lot of people came out of their houses. “I am working at home. Meanwhile earthquake signs occurred for a few seconds. In a frightening situation, we ran out of home. A lot of vessels and bowls fell down from the shelves while we were in shock by noticing such an incident,” one of the residents added.
