Mine department raids uncover massive illegal mining worth Rs 21 crore

During the statewide campaign against illegal mining activities being conducted on the instructions of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, two different teams of the Mines Department raided illegal mining taking place at Hasanpura Mafi near Tijara and Sujat Ka Khola in the hilly area near Deeg.
The agencies busted illegal mining of more than four lakh 93 thousand 170 tonnes of stone. Now, the department has imposed a penalty of more than Rs 21 crore 13 lakh as per the rules.
Mines Secretary Anandi said, “On the basis of information received confidentially, a team from another place was instructed to carry on the investigation so Jaipur SME Pratap Meena formed a team and reached Alwar first.”
After this, the team of SME Pratap Meena and his team members ME Jaipur Shri Krishna Sharma and ME Vigilance Pushpendra Singh Meena were sent secretly from there to investigate illegal mining in Hasanpura Mafi area near Khairthal Tijara.
Pratap Meena and his team found illegal mining of 2 lakh 1 thousand tonnes of Cheja stone in 6 cases in the gap area of mining leases. After a detailed investigation by the team, a penalty of Rs 8 crore 87 lakh has been imposed for illegal mining. Similarly, during the investigation complaint about illegal mining taking place at Khola of Sujat in Pahari Deeg was received in the control room. ME Ramniwas Mangal and his team registered seven cases of illegal mining and detected illegal mining in significant numbers.
ME Ramniwas Mangal said that illegal mining of 2 lakh 92 thousand 170 tonnes of masonry stone was exposed in seven cases. On this, a penalty of Rs 12 crore 26 lakh has been imposed by the department as per rules. The progress of the campaign is being reviewed regularly by Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, while strict directions to take action within 24 hours of receiving the complaint from the control room have been issued.
The review is being done at the headquarters level by DMG Dr Pragya Kewalramani. The analysis is being done by Additional Director Vigilance Yogendra Singh Mahwal and Control Room Incharge SME SP Sharma.
