Meet Nala: The Most Followed Cat on Instagram and a Business Tycoon

With 4.5 million followers, Nala, a Siamese-tabby mix, has become an Instagram sensation and holds the Guinness World Record for “The Most Followers on Instagram for a Cat.” Her Instagram account, @nala_cat, is filled with endearing snaps and reels that showcase her irresistible charm.

Adopted at 4 months old by Varisiri Methachittiphan from the Castaic Animal Shelter, Nala’s story began when Varisiri couldn’t resist her big blue eyes. “Even though I never intended to adopt a cat that day, when I saw Nala, I couldn’t resist her big blue eyes. Once I had Nala in my arms, she looked up at me and licked my face. I knew it was meant to be,” Varisiri shared with Munchie Cat.

Nala’s popularity has grown into a business empire, with a cat food brand called Love Nala and an assortment of branded merchandise including accessories, coffee mugs, T-shirts, and even cat houses. Nala has also made lucrative endorsement deals with brands like Bissell, Friskies, and Hulu, earning an estimated $8,683 per sponsored post. In 2019, she was named TikToker of the Year.

Not just a celebrity, Nala also gives back, donating meals to Kitten Rescue LA and Daisy’s Hope Foundation. The adorable feline’s philanthropy adds another layer to her already impressive resume.
