The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Partap Singh Bajwa on Monday lambasted the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab Government for strangulating the voices of dissent in the state.
Meanwhile, the YouTuber and social media influencer Bhagwan Singh Bhana Sidhu has been the latest target of the cruel AAP regime. Just because he speaks against the anti-people policies of the AAP government in the state, he is being fabricated in one or the other case, which is highly deplorable», Bajwa added.
Bajwa demanded that Bhana Sidhu be released with immediate effect and that all the false cases registered against him be nullified.
Before this, the Punjab police under the AAP government harassed an anti-drug activist Parminder Singh aka Jhota. He has been speaking vehemently against the alleged drug peddler and police nexus, which did not go down well with the AAP and Punjab Police, Bajwa said.
Senior Congress Leader Bajwa said that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann who, before becoming CM, used to encourage people to question the political leader, now, after becoming CM, seems to have been rattled by the people›s criticism.
The people of Punjab still remember how the AAP government got the Twitter (Now X) handles and Facebook pages of several journalists, who have been exposing the government on its wrong policies, Bajwa added.
The opposition leader said that the AAP didn›t even spare its former colleagues including Congress MLA from Bholath Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Alka Lamba and Kumar Vishwas. The AAP booked them as false cases just because they criticised the AAP.
