Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia expressed hope for justice from the Supreme Court for Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case. Recently granted bail, Sisodia highlighted the unity of party members and the Delhi public during challenging times. He had been held for 17 months on allegations of corruption and money laundering.
Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia expressed optimism on Monday about the Supreme Court granting justice to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the ongoing excise policy case.
Speaking in his first interview since being granted bail, Sisodia described the party leadership’s ordeal as a period of immense pressure due to the intense scrutiny from central agencies. However, he emphasized the unwavering unity displayed by AAP workers, leaders, and the people of Delhi, which he believes is the party’s greatest strength.
“We have complete faith in the Supreme Court,” Sisodia said. “I myself have received justice from the highest court.”
The Supreme Court granted Sisodia bail on Friday in connection with corruption and money laundering charges related to the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam. As part of his bail conditions, he is required to appear before the CBI and ED offices every Monday and Thursday morning.
Sisodia dismissed any notion of demoralization, asserting that crises often bring people closer together. He praised the party’s resilience and the Delhi government’s continued efforts to serve the public during this challenging period.
The former deputy chief minister spent 17 months in custody after being arrested by the CBI in February 2023 and subsequently by the ED in March of the same year.
Meanwhile, Kejriwal has challenged a Delhi High Court order denying his appeal against a CBI arrest in a petition submitted to the Supreme Court.
