Manipur lifts broadband internet suspension

The Manipur government conditionally restored broadband internet services on Tuesday, three months after a suspension due to state-wide ethnic violence. The Home Department noted mobile internet will continue to remain suspended. Broadband services will be permitted through static IP only, and Wi-Fi hotspots are strictly prohibited. The decision to lift the ban was driven by the impact on local institutions, work-from-home employees, and various online services.
