The Manipur Governor, Anusuiya Uikey, has set the date for the monsoon session of the Assembly on August 29, as confirmed by a recent notification. This decision comes after a recommendation from the state Cabinet, led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh, on Monday. The formal notification dictates the commencement of the “4th session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly at 11 am, on Tuesday, the 29th August.” Notably, an earlier recommendation from the Manipur cabinet had suggested the session begin on August 21. However, the assembly did not convene on the recommended date since no official directive had been issued by Raj Bhavan at that time.
