A Dutch court has banned a man suspected of fathering more than 550 children from donating any more of his sperm.
Jonathan Jacob Meijer, aged 41, could be fined over €100,000 if he tries to donate his sperm again.
The case was brought to court by a foundation and the mother of one of the children.
The judge said the donor “misinformed prospective parents about the number of children he had already fathered”.
Meijer donated his sperm to at least 13 clinics, with 11 in the Netherlands.
Dutch guidelines state that donors should not father over 25 children to prevent accidental breeding and psychological problems.
