According to police, a 29-year-old man allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday by jumping off the Civic Centre building. They said that no suicide note had been found.
The deceased worked as a data entry operator on the eighth floor of the 28-story structure, according to a senior police officer.
An unidentified person was found dead in front of the Income-Tax building in the “E-2” block around 10.25 a.m., according to Civic Centre security in-charge SK Tiwari, the officer added.
According to CCTV footage, the man can be seen going to the 20th floor of the building, then going back down to the eighth floor to keep his bag, before going to the 26th floor. From there, he is seen taking the staircase to the upper floor, the police said.
The deceased man’s wife told authorities that during an investigation that was ongoing that her husband husband had health concerns and had been dealing with a stomach-related condition for some time.
