One of the unfortunate bus survivors stated he and a few others were able to escape the flaming vehicle by shattering the back windows. The tragic bus caught fire on Saturday, killing 25 passengers in Buldhana, Maharashtra.
“A tyre of the bus burst and the vehicle caught fire immediately. The blaze spread in no time,” the survivor said.
“The passenger seated next to me and I managed to escape by breaking the rear window,” he further said.
The survivor stated that personnel from both the police and fire brigade were at the site promptly following the tragedy. Four to five people, according to a local, broke one of the bus’s windows to get out.
“But not everyone could do it,” he expressed his grief, he was crying while telling to the reporters.
He continued and informed us that the people who could get off the bus, they asked for rescue from other cars going on the highway, but nobody stopped.”
While questioned from the local residents, they said,”Many accidents take place on this route at Pimpalkhuta. We were called for help and when we went there, we saw the horrible situation. The tyres had fallen apart. We tried our best to get the passengers out from the burning bus, but it got delay and hardly a few could be escaped.”
“People inside were trying to break the windows. We saw people getting burnt alive…The fire was so intense that we could not do anything. We were in tears…,” they further said.

Had the vehicles passing by the highway stopped for help, more lives could have been saved, survivors told.
Eight survivors of the bus tragedy have been rushed to the nearby hospital and provided first aid, they are safe now, police said.
At roughly 1:30 in the morning, a private passenger bus travelling from Nagpur to Pune crashed into a road divider on the Samruddhi Motorway close to Sindkhedraja in Buldhana. Police reported that 25 of the bus’ 33 passengers were burned beyond recovery.
