Mahakumbh 2025: AI Chatbot, QR Codes, and State-of-the-Art Control Room Set for 2025

The Mahakumbh 2025, scheduled from January 13 to February 26 in Prayagraj, will offer a groundbreaking digital experience, featuring an AI-powered chatbot for the first time, according to a report. This initiative is part of the Digital Mahakumbh vision, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

By scanning a QR code, visitors can receive a personalized Mahakumbh certificate with their photo, which can be saved digitally or printed. The AI chatbot will provide detailed information on every event and major program during the Mahakumbh, making it a first-of-its-kind digital experience for devotees worldwide.

Officials, including Regional Tourism Officer Aparajita Singh, are working to ensure that the event is both spiritually enriching and technologically advanced. This digital shift marks the first time the Mahakumbh will be extensively digitalized, providing a unique experience for global devotees.

Visitors can interact with the chatbot via a link (https://chatbot.kumbh.up.gov.in) or by scanning the QR code for their personalized certificate. The chatbot is also heavily promoted on social media platforms like X, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram, enhancing its visibility and engagement.

The AI chatbot can guide users virtually through Mahakumbh Nagar, offering essential information about amenities such as food, lockers, washrooms, and changing rooms. It supports 11 languages — Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Bengali, and Urdu — and users can ask questions by typing or speaking in their preferred language.

Additionally, a state-of-the-art control room has been set up at the Kumbh Mela tent city to ensure smooth operations. Designed by renowned Bollywood art director Pawan Pandey, the control room allows senior authorities to monitor every aspect of the event. The facility, decorated with artwork inspired by Prayagraj’s temples, will house over 100 officials and manage operations like security, administration, medical services, and water supply. It will serve as the high-tech hub for coordinating the world’s largest religious gathering, providing real-time updates to state authorities.
