MADE TO WAIT FOR 2 HOURS TO SPEAK IN VIRTUAL MEET, ALLEGES MAMATA

KOLKATA: West Bengal Chief Minister has alleged that while her counterparts were allowed to speak in a virtual meeting conducted by the central government, she had to wait for two hours for her turn. She added that she would not attend the next meeting on Friday.

The Centre held the meeting on Wednesday to plan the celebration for 75 years of Independence.

Artist Jogen Chowdhury and poet Joy Goswami extended support to Mamata. “Although the Prime Minister gave the opportunity to others to speak, he did not give an opportunity to the Chief Minister of Bengal. Whereas Bengal contributed the most during the freedom struggle. I am protesting and condemning this incident on behalf of the artist community,” said Chowdhury.

Goswami alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s disregard was evident at the Victoria Memorial before, so it was not surprising this time.
