An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and his gunman in Ludhiana East, Punjab, tragically lost their lives after their vehicle collided with another on the Dyalpura bypass in Samrala late Friday night, officials reported.
The ACP, identified as Sandeep Singh, and his gunman, Paramjot Singh, sustained severe injuries when their SUV collided head-on with another SUV traveling in the opposite direction. The duo was traveling from Chandigarh to Ludhiana when the accident occurred. They were rescued from the vehicle and rushed to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, their vehicle caught fire shortly after the collision.
The driver of their vehicle survived the crash, and his condition was described as stable. The identities of the occupants of the other SUV involved in the collision were not confirmed.
Authorities have registered a case at the Samrala police station, and investigations are ongoing.
