LPG price reduction: Commercial cylinders become less expensive

Indian oil marketing companies cut the price of commercial LPG by $25.50 for a 19-kg cylinder in New Delhi on Saturday, with immediate effect, a day after natural gas prices increased by a record 40% in response to a global increase in energy prices.

The price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) was also reduced by 4.5%.

Here are the main points about commercial LPG rate reductions:

• The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder used in hotels and restaurants in the national capital has been reduced from 1,885 to 1,859.50.
• This is the sixth price decrease for commercial LPG since June.
• In total, rates have dropped by $494.50 per 19-kg cylinder.
• LPG rates in household kitchens for cooking remained unchanged at $1,053 per 14.2-kg cylinder.
• Because commercial LPG rates are largely cost-based, they have risen and fallen in lockstep with international prices.
• The price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) has been reduced by 4.5%. In New Delhi, the price of jet fuel has been reduced by 5,521.17 to 115,520.27 per kl.
• Rates vary by state, depending on the presence of local taxes.
• The price has been reduced to 1,959 in Kolkata, and 1811.50 in Mumbai.
