Lok Sabha Housing committee ordered Rahul Gandhi to vacate government bungalow by 22 April

The Housing Committee of Lok Sabha has sent Congress leader Rahul Gandhi a notice to vacate the government bungalow allotted to him by April 22, sources said, days after his disqualification as MP as a result of a Surat court’s verdict in a criminal defamation case.

They claim Rahul Gandhi has been asked to vacate 12 Tughlaq Lane in New Delhi. According to the sources, Rahul Gandhi has been given 30 days to vacate the premises in order to avoid eviction.

A senior official revealed that Rahul Gandhi can write the Housing Panel to seek an extended stay, which can be considered by the committee.

Following Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification, Congress workers protested in various parts of the country. The party has slammed the Modi government on the issue, pledging to fight it both legally and politically.

Gandhi’s bail was approved on a surety basis, and the sentence was suspended for 30 days to allow him to appeal to higher courts.

The Lok Sabha Secretariat issued a notification to various departments, including the Directorate of Estates and the New Delhi Municipal Council, and all of Gandhi’s benefits as a member of Parliament are also being reviewed.
