Lisa Shares She’s ‘Having Fun’ Solo and Confirms BLACKPINK’s Comeback

BLACKPINK’s Lisa is on a high, taking her solo career to new heights. Known for her charisma and bold stage persona, the Thai K-pop star recently spoke with Billboard about her excitement in going solo, sharing that she initially felt “scared and nervous.” Now, however, she’s fully enjoying the journey. “And now I’m having fun,” she said, noting that fan responses have boosted her confidence. “When [my singles] came out, the reaction from the fans—it’s healing me. It’s like, ‘Oh, my God. Yeah—I did a great job!’”

Since launching her solo career in 2021 with hits like “Lalisa” and “Money,” Lisa has released new singles in 2024 under RCA Records, including the rock-infused track “Rockstar” and collaborations like “New Woman” with Rosalía in August. In October, she dropped another single, “Moonlit Floor.” With her own agency, LLOUD, she gained ownership of her master recordings, though she clarified that LLOUD is not intended as a business empire but rather a “safe zone” for her own creative pursuits.

Lisa’s Musical Growth

While Lisa’s role in BLACKPINK has primarily been as a rapper, her solo work has allowed her to explore different musical sides. “In BLACKPINK, I’m a rapper, so I always rap. But now it’s a chance for me to show the world that I’m capable of [so much more],” she explained.

The BLACKPINK members have also pursued individual paths while maintaining their group contract with YG Entertainment. Jennie founded her own label, Lisa started LLOUD, Jisoo established BLISOO, and Rosé joined The Black Label in June 2024. Despite this independence, the members stay closely connected. “We know each other so well and understand how much energy we have to put into every single project,” Lisa noted. She frequently stays in touch with her fellow members, expressing joy over their solo projects. “This is what we all wanted to do, so I just want to say that I really do love their songs.”

BLACKPINK’s 2025 Comeback

Lisa also confirmed BLACKPINK’s planned comeback for 2025, echoing an announcement by YG earlier this year. While YG hinted at a potential tour, Lisa is less certain, responding playfully, “That’s what they say?” But her excitement about reuniting with Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo remains evident. “I can’t wait,” she shared, underscoring her anticipation for their next chapter together.
