Lionel Messi pens heartfelt note after Argentina’s World Cup triumph

Argentina clinched the prestigious FIFA World Cup trophy on Sunday after which Argentine talisman Lionel Messi wrote a heartfelt note.

Messi thanked the fans for their support throughout Argentina’s journey in the World Cup.

Taking to Instagram Messi shared a series of photos and wrote, “World Champions! I dreamed of it so many times, I wanted it so much that I still haven’t fallen, I can’t believe it. Thank you very much to my family, to all who support me, and also to all who believed in us. We demonstrate once again that Argentines when we fight together and united we are capable of achieving what we set out to do. The merit belongs to this group, which is above individualities, it is the strength of all fighting for the same dream that was also the dream of all Argentines… We did it! Go Argentina! we are seeing each other very soon.”

Earlier on Sunday Argentine talisman Lionel Messi announced that he will continue to play football for Argentina.

Talking to the media Messi said, “No, I’m not going to retire from the Argentina national team. I want to continue playing as a champion.”

The 35-year-old legend made crucial goals, converting penalties and assisting his teammates in scoring, and end up winning the finals.

However, in the FIFA World Cup 2022, it was a battle between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) teammates Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in which Messi’s FIFA World Cup dream was fulfilled, and won the title in a penalty shootout.
