A lift malfunction at Neha Electronics showroom on Malerkotla Road, Khanna, led to a serious incident where two laborers sustained injuries as the lift suddenly plunged from the fourth floor. The injured, identified as Navjot Singh (20) from Rohno Khurd and Gurbakhsh Singh (22) from Basti Khanna, were promptly admitted to the trauma center. The incident occurred while the workers were transporting an old television from the fourth floor using the malfunctioning lift. Despite prior reports of the lift’s faulty condition, no repairs were undertaken, resulting in the unfortunate accident. The injured were initially taken to a private hospital and later shifted to the Civil Hospital for further treatment. Numberdar Santokh Singh Banipal highlighted the negligence of the lift’s maintenance and urged immediate action to prevent such incidents in the future.
