LG Manoj Sinha addresses grievances during live interaction session

Today at the Civil Secretariat, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha presented a live engagement session titled “LG’s Mulaqaat” in an effort to directly communicate with the public and address their complaints.

The Lieutenant Governor asked responsible Administrative Secretaries, Deputy Commissioners, and senior officials to provide action taken reports on public outreach programs while reviewing complaints submitted on the JKIGRAMS portal during the meeting.

Lieutenant Governor Sinha called on officials to carry out decisions impartially, emphasizing the value of projects advancing the common good and emphasizing the development of social and physical capital.

“We should strive to improve public service delivery mechanisms, ensure quick resolution of public complaints, and transparent implementation of welfare schemes to enhance citizen capabilities,” remarked the Lieutenant Governor

Addressing specific grievances, Lieutenant Governor Sinha directed for the rationalization of teachers, particularly in schools located in remote areas, emphasizing the eradication of  “Single Teacher Schools” across Jammu and Kashmir.

In addition, guidelines were provided for the efficient operation of hand pumps and borewells as well as for bolstering the infrastructure for power distribution and transmission. These included fixing problems with the LT Network and loose hanging electrical wires.

Under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), deputy commissioners were entrusted with making sure that regions in the electrical infrastructure that needed maintenance received the necessary interventions.In response to specific grievances, Lieutenant Governor Sinha promised swift action. For example, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla promised completion of the building of a girls hostel near Higher Secondary School Pehlipora, Baramulla, in less than a month.

Similarly, issues concerning the functioning of facilities at Bus Stand Jammu and the dilapidated condition of the Sumb road in Samba were addressed with concrete directives for remedial action.

Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, Secretary, Public Grievances, conducted the proceedings of the LG’s Mulaqaat, ensuring the efficient handling of grievances.

Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary Forests Dheeraj Gupta, Administrative Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, SSPs, HoDs, and other senior officers participated in the interaction, both in person and through virtual mode.

The LG’s Mulaqaat exemplifies the administration’s commitment to proactive governance and responsive grievance redressal, reaffirming its dedication to serving the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir.
