Congress MLA and senior party leader Kuldeep Bishnoi, who lobbied hard for the post of state party president, is upset with the party high command after the appointment of Udai Bhan for the same.
Bhan is believed to be close and loyalist of former Chief Minister and the Leader of Opposition Bhupendra Singh Hooda.
Bishnoi had been meeting Rahul Gandhi, Venugopal and Priyanka Gandhi but in vain. Addressing his supporters on social media, Bishnoi wrote that they should keep patience until he seeks a response from Rahul Gandhi for the decision.
Despite the appointment of his loyalist Udai Bhan as the state president, Hooda has to face a string of challenges, including making organisational appointments which have been pending for the past eight years. The Hooda faction also has to face the challenge of maintaining balance with dissent party leaders.
The newly-appointed Haryana Congress president and working presidents will take charge on 4 July in the Chandigarh office.
The Congress has witnessed debacles in last two elections which weakened its position in Haryana.
