Kota administration gears up for the election counting day

On June 4, nationwide voting is scheduled to take place, and the administration is ensuring transparency and fairness by making all necessary arrangements. Guidelines regarding the media’s role at the counting venue have also been issued. District Collector Dr. Ravindra Goswami engaged with the media on Friday to discuss the counting process and security measures. Dr. Goswami urged the public to avoid crowding around the counting location and emphasized that no processions will be permitted without prior approval, as Section 144 will be enforced after vote counting. To minimize disruption to students’ studies at JDB, EVM and VVPAT machines will be securely stored in a warehouse near Darbar Petrol Pump, with JDB expected to be vacated by June 5th or 6th.

The vote counting for the Kota parliamentary constituency will be conducted at Janaki Devi Bajaj Kanya Mahavidyalaya Nayapura, with a three-tier security arrangement in place. The counting process will take place in eight rooms, with 14 EVMs counted simultaneously in each room. Additionally, 27 tablets have been set up for post blue paper processing, while service voters’ ballots will be tallied on four tables. Each of the eight assembly constituencies will have separate rooms for counting, conducted round by round. In Bundi district, a maximum of 24 rounds of vote counting is expected. Access to the counting venue will be restricted to pass holders, and mobile phones will not be permitted. Updates on counting trends will be promptly provided, with adequate provisions for electricity, shade, cold water, and heat protection. A medical team with medical kits will also be present, along with over 5000 deployed personnel including employees, officers, and police personnel for the vote counting process.
