Kejriwal writes to PM Modi, to skip Niti Aayog meeting

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi in writing that he will not attend the upcoming Niti Aayog conference.

What use is it, Kejriwal questioned, to attend the Niti Aayog meeting when “cooperative federalism is a joke”?

“People want to know where they can turn for justice if the PM doesn’t follow the Supreme Court. The leader of the Aam Aadmi Party penned a letter to Prime Minister Modi asking, “What’s the sense of attending Niti Aayog meetings when cooperative federalism is a joke.

The Niti Aayog conference, which is slated for May 27, will discuss a number of topics, including infrastructure development, women’s empowerment, skill development, and health, with the goal of making India a developed country by 2047.

The council, the apex body of Niti Aayog, includes all chief ministers, lieutenant governors of Union Territories, and several Union ministers.

Apart from Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have also decided that they will not take part in the May 27 meeting.
