CHANDIGARH: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will visit Punjab on Saturday, a statement from the party headquarters stated on Thursday.
According to the statement, Kejriwal will visit Punjab, especially, in support of the teachers sitting on dharna in Mohali and on the overhead water tank.
During his recent two-day visit to Punjab, while giving 8 guarantees to the teachers for revolutionary reforms in the education sector in Punjab, Kejriwal had appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi to immediately accede to the demands of qualified unemployed teachers who have been fighting for jobs for a long time; so that they could call off their strike, come down of the water tank and go back homes happily and teach the students in government schools who are longing for teachers. Kejriwal had also warned the Channi government that if the Punjab government did not address the issue of the struggling teachers immediately, he would be compelled to join the dharna of the unemployed teachers.
