After the deteriorating environmental conditions in Karnal, Haryana, the pollution control department has become strict. Pollution Control Board has given notices of Rs 10 lakh each to Haryana Urban Development Authority (HSVP). Burning of garbage took place at two places on HSVP land on Wednesday. The first place in this was on GT Road in Sector 12 and the second place was in Sector 32.
Garbage was found burning at both these places. The pollution department took this seriously and took strict action. As the environment is getting polluted, vehicles emitting smoke and activities that harm the environment have also been banned. The restrictions have also affected development. Development works worth Rs 300 crore have been affected.
In view of the increasing pollution, the Pollution Control Board does not seem to be in any mood for laxity. It has been made mandatory to follow the rules and regulations of the National Green Tribunal. Vehicles that emit smoke have been banned immediately. Along with this, vehicles falling in BS 4 category are also under the ban.
Those government buses have also been banned from running on the roads, which pollute the environment. Not only this, if the situation worsens then it has been left to schools, colleges and other educational institutions to declare holidays at their own level.
Recently, DC Anish Yadav had also taken a meeting of the concerned officials. In which they have made it compulsory to follow the orders of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM). If anyone disobeys the orders, action should be taken against him.
The pollution situation is worrying. In such a situation, the administration also does not want to spread pollution in any way. The result of which has come to light that development work is also being affected. According to an estimate, development worth Rs 300 crore has been affected. Which includes small to big tasks. Be it government work or private work. Be it building work or highway construction work. Everything has been banned.
When Pollution Control Board official Shailendra Arora was talked to, he told that if any person is setting fire in the open and there are orders to take action against him. He said that a notice of Rs 10 lakh each has been issued to the HSVP department on Wednesday evening. Garbage was burning on his land.
