Kalesar National Park’s jungle safari resumes, unveiling nature’s splendor after 3-YEAR pause

Good news for the people of Haryana! The jungle safari at Yamunanagar’s Kalesar National Park, which had been closed for almost three years, has been reopened for tourists. The government had decided to close it during the COVID-19 pandemic, and now, after a long wait, tourists can once again experience the thrill of the safari.
The Kalesar National Park, sprawling over 13,482 acres in Yamunanagar, started its jungle safari in 2015. What makes this park unique is its connection with two other states, as it is linked to Uttarakhand’s Rajaji National Park and Himachal Pradesh’s Simbalwada. Visitors can enjoy a 14-kilometer trek through the park, offering sightings of various wildlife species. Notably, in April of the same year, a tiger was spotted here after a gap of 110 years, along with other endangered species.
During the jungle safari, tourists can encounter a diverse range of animals, including tigers, leopards, sambar deer, wild cats, cheetals, jungle foxes, nilgai, bears, elephants, langurs, monkeys, and several other endangered species. The forest department has installed night vision cameras to capture the activities of wildlife, enhancing the overall experience.
For those planning to embark on the safari adventure, the route spans 14 kilometers, and the safari operates from 6 AM to 11 AM in the morning and from 3 PM to 5 PM in the evening. The rental cost for a jeep accommodating up to seven people is 1,100 rupees. The entry fee is kept reasonably low, with 50 rupees for Indian citizens, 30 rupees for children, and 200 rupees for foreign nationals. If you’re looking to kick off the New Year with an exciting jungle safari, Kalesar National Park is undoubtedly the best option.
