Kabaddi competition will be held in Panchkula on Chhotu Ram Jayanti

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Farmer Messiah Chaudhary Chhotu Ram, this time the national-level Circle Kabaddi competition will be organized in Panchkula on 4th and 5th February 2024, in which famous Kabaddi teams from all over the country will participate.
This information was provided by the President of the Jat Sabha Panchkula/Chandigarh and former DGP of Haryana, Dr. Mahendra Singh Malik. He mentioned that during the executive meeting of the Sabha, it was decided that on the occasion of Chaudhary Chhotu Ram’s 143rd birth anniversary, the “First Chaudhary Chhotu Ram Memorial National Circle Kabaddi Competition” will be organized. This competition will span two days from the 4th to the 5th of February.
Dr. Malik said, “Kabaddi is our traditional sport and is the most favored sport in rural areas, which was also liked by Deenbandhu Chaudhary Chhotu Ram.”
He informed that to encourage players, the first prize will be 1 lakh 50 thousand rupees, the second prize will be 1 lakh 21 thousand rupees, the third prize will be 75 thousand rupees, and the fourth prize will be 51 thousand rupees. Additionally, each team ranking from fifth to eighth will receive a prize of 22 thousand rupees. Furthermore, during this occasion, prizes for the best catcher and best raider of the entire Kabaddi tournament will also be awarded.
Dr. Malik mentioned that during the competition held at Chaudhary Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula, esteemed sports personalities will also be invited.
Under the chairmanship of Dr. Mahendra Singh Malik, a meeting was held, and a proposal for condemnation was passed by the Jat Sabha, which highlighted the neglect of female players from Haryana at the recent elections of the Indian Wrestling Federation. He stated that a letter will be sent by the Sabha to the Haryana and Central governments, demanding the inclusion of an international female wrestler from Haryana in the Wrestling Federation.
Present at today’s meeting were many members of the Jat Sabha, including R.K. Malik, Vice President Jayapal Puniyan, Manbeer Sangwan, M.S. Hooda, Anand Lather, international Kabaddi player Naresh Ramkali, Rakesh Gill, Satish Kumar, Naresh Dahiya, Rajendra Kharb, M.S. Phogat, Jagbir Kadyan, Vimal June, Sukhbir Singh, and Prem Singh.
