Prayagraj: A three-member judicial enquiry committee pertaining to the murder of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed has been constituted which will give a detailed report to the Uttar Pradesh government in two months, said an official notification issued by the home department on Sunday.
The committee will be headed by Retired Justice Arvind Kumar Tripathi of Allahabad High Court, including retired IPS officer Subesh Kumar Singh and Retired District Judge Brijesh Kumar Soni. Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called a high-level meeting and ordered a high-level inquiry after mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead on Saturday night.
