The upcoming session of the “Gender Sensitive Rajasthan” initiative, a collaboration between UNICEF and Future Society, is scheduled for December 20 in Suryanagari Jodhpur. This one-day training workshop, set to take place at RTDC Hotel Ghoomar (Old High Court Road) from 10 am, aims to train media professionals from various institutions, including print, TV, and digital media, along with journalism students. The modules for the workshop have been prepared by senior gender specialists and educators, including Nasiruddin.
Ravita Sharma, the Vice President of Future Society, emphasised that the workshop seeks to address gender inequality in society through media channels.
UNICEF’s Communication Specialist, Ankush Singh, highlighted the importance of showcasing aspects related to women in both traditional and new media. Recognising that journalists have continuous contact with society on this subject, Singh emphasised the role of journalists in making children, parents, and teachers “gender-sensitive.”
