J&K govt orders reshuffle in police, 33 officers transferred

In a significant administrative move, the government has undertaken a major reshuffle in the police department, ordering the transfers and postings of 33 officers with immediate effect. The reshuffle aims at optimizing the deployment of police personnel across various regions of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the government order, Shivam Siddharth, IPS, previously awaiting adjustment, has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police for North Jammu, replacing Kuldeep Chand Handa.

Ranjit Singh, Superintendent of Police, who was awaiting adjustment, is now posted as the Deputy Commandant of JKAP-8th Battalion.

Azhar Bashir Baba, Additional Superintendent of Police Security, Kashmir, has been reassigned as the Superintendent of Police, APCR Kashmir, filling an available vacancy.

Arif Amin Shah, Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), Srinagar, has been transferred to the role of Deputy Commandant JKAP-9 Battalion, against an available vacancy.

Several other officers have also undergone shifts in their postings, including Naresh Singh, Rajinder Singh, Mohd. Anwar-ul-Haq, Vivek Shekhar Sharma, Feroz Ahmad, Tanweer Ahmad Dar, Zoheb Tanweer, Amit Verma, Mashkoor Ahmed Zargat, Brijesh Kumar Sharma, Kulbir Chand Handa, Farhat Jeelani, Shri Shabir Ahmad, Vishal Manhas, Hilal Khaliq Bhat, Fahad Tak, Imtyaz Ahmad Rather, Shah Umar, Baljit Singh, Ghulam Mohd Bhat, Aejaz Ahmad Malik, Ruhail Mircha, Pardeep Kumar, Syed Majeed Mosavi, Musadiq Majid Basu, Salim Jahangir Lone, Showkat Ahmad Dar, Manish Kumar Sharma, and Imtiaz Ahmed.

The reshuffle includes officers awaiting adjustment and aims at optimizing the skills and expertise of the police force across various units and regions.

The changes come into effect immediately, and the newly appointed officers are expected to assume their duties promptly. The government emphasizes that the reshuffle is a strategic measure to enhance efficiency, streamline responsibilities, and ensure effective policing across different parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
