The National Center for Seismology on Thursday said a 3.5 magnitude earthquake jolted Jammu and Kashmir’s Katra. At 7.52 AM, the earthquake occurred.
“An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 occurred 62 km ENE of Katra, Jammu, and Kashmir, at around 7:52 am today. The depth of the earthquake was 10 km below the ground,” NSE said in a tweet.
However, further details are awaited.
Earlier on August 26, the National Center for Seismology said within one hour two earthquakes occurred in Katra of magnitude 3.2 and 4.1.
Informing about the first earthquake NCS tweeted, “Earthquake of Magnitude:3.4, Occurred on 26-08-2022, 3:28:33 IST. Lat: 33.17 and Long: 75.57, Depth: 5 Km, Location: 62km ENE of Katra, Jammu, and Kashmir.”
