J&K: Baramulla Police books 8 Under Public Safety Act

Eight miscreants have been charged under the Public Safety Act by the Baramulla Police, following the issuance of formal detention orders by the appropriate authority, the police announced on Monday. These individuals are currently held in the District Jail in Udhampur and the Central Jail in Kot-Balwal, Jammu.

The eight individuals identified as Waqar Ahmad Bhat, Danish Hussain Gojree, Taseen Ahmad Hurra, Mohd Abdullah Bhat, Mohd Ashraf Wani (also known as Ashraf Haji), Suhail Ahmad Sheikh, Touseef Ahmad Akhoon, and Abdul Majeed Shah have been implicated in the case.

It’s worth mentioning that the eight accused have multiple cases filed against them. They are purportedly linked to incidents of disrupting public order and engaging in other criminal activities. Subsequently, their names were included in the Public Safety Act.

Further investigation into the matter is currently ongoing.
