Addressing the escalating concerns surrounding cyber-crime, Anand Jain, IPS, ADGP Jammu Zone, conducted a thorough inspection of the Cyber Police Station in Jammu. During the visit, he assured that comprehensive measures would be implemented to fortify the capabilities of the Cyber Police Station and intensify efforts to combat cyber-crime effectively.

In response to the surge in cyber-crime cases, ADGP Anand Jain underscored the need for a robust response from law enforcement. He issued directives to the Officers/Officials of the Cyber Police Station to handle cyber-crime-related cases with professionalism and diligence.

Expressing appreciation for the efforts of the Cyber Police Station in investigating various cyber crimes, ADGP Anand Jain emphasized the necessity of allocating additional human and technological resources to address emerging cyber threats, such as those associated with Artificial Intelligence and Deep Fakes.

An important development highlighted during the inspection was the decision to establish Cyber Cells/Cyber investigation teams at the district headquarters level in every district of the Jammu Zone. This initiative aims to streamline the reporting process for various cyber-crimes and ensure accessibility for the general public. Assuring an unwavering commitment to strengthening the Cyber Police Station, ADGP Anand Jain enquired about the progress of the construction of the Cyber Police Station building. He urged a swift completion of the construction work to make the facility operational at the earliest.

Additionally, ADGP Anand Jain emphasized the acceleration of cyber awareness programs at all levels to educate the public about various types of cyber-crimes. This proactive approach seeks to prevent individuals from falling victim to online fraudsters and cyber criminals.

During the briefing, Superintendent of Police Sh. Kameshwar Puri, in charge of Cyber PS Jammu, provided insights into the functioning of the Cyber Police Station and various online portals, including 1930. He briefed ADGP Anand Jain on reported cyber-crimes, covering financial frauds, social media-related cases, malware attacks, cyber security breaches, cyber terrorism, and more.

Highlighting the success of the online cyber-crime reporting mechanism on the 1930 portal, SP Kameshwar Puri informed ADGP Anand Jain that the Cyber Police Station had successfully recovered over 1.25 Crore since its inception. The ADGP appreciated the ongoing efforts and affirmed his commitment to reinforcing the Cyber Police Station’s capabilities to combat cyber threats effectively.
