Upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival in Jaipur, Mayor Dr Soumya Gurjar took stock of the cleanliness system early in the morning. The Mayor started her tour from the Riddhi-Siddhi intersection. After this, she inspected the cleanliness system of various places and got the systems improved.
During the preparations, the Mayor met the female sanitation workers and put gloves on them after seeing them shrinking in the cold. She also served tea prepared at home to the employees.
On the arrival of the Prime Minister, the Mayor advised all shopkeepers and sidewalk vendors not to use the banned single-use plastic. Also advised to use blue and green dustbins in shops and streets. Interacted with the common people and also administered oath to make Jaipur clean. During the visit, Deputy Commissioner of Health Department Naveen Bhardwaj, Public Relations Officer Dharmita Chaudhary along with CSI, SI were present.
Instructions were given to remove illegal hoardings, banners and posters installed in the city. The Municipal Corporation has advised cleaning the city with micromanagement. It was also advised to treat cleanliness as a responsibility. An appeal has been made to the general public to throw garbage in the hopper instead of on the roads.
