The Low-Floor bus drivers and conductors of Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL) have not received their salaries for the past month. Currently facing financial distress, employees find themselves unable to meet crucial expenses such as their children’s school fees and other essential monthly bills. In a meeting with officials, employees were informed that the delay in salary disbursement was due to a lack of funds from the government.
Surprisingly, while officials claim a shortage of funds affecting the timely payment of employees, the salaries of these officials themselves are reportedly being disbursed on schedule. Frustrated by the apparent discrepancy, the bus drivers and conductors have issued a statement threatening to go on strike and organize protests if their salaries are not paid promptly.
The employees highlighted the urgency of their situation, emphasizing that the delay in receiving salaries has left them financially strained, making it difficult for them to fulfil their familial and personal financial obligations. They urged the authorities to expedite the release of funds so that they could receive their salaries without further delays. As the threat of a strike looms, the city’s commuters may face disruptions in the public transportation system if a resolution is not reached promptly. The JCTSL employees have expressed their determination to stand united in their demand for timely salary disbursement and have made it clear that they will not back down from their planned strike and protests if their concerns are not addressed urgently.
