iTV Network launches first ‘Law and Constitution Dialogue’

On the Constitution Day, iTV Network’s flagship programme ‘Legally Speaking’ on Friday presented the first ‘Law and Constitution Dialogue’ here. With the lighting of lamp, the programme was inaugurated by Member of Parliament Kartikeya Sharma and Justice Surya Kant. They also launched the mobile app and website of ‘Legally Speaking’.
The conclave’s objective is to invite thought leaders, eminent judges, intellectuals, and parliamentarians to talk about law and Constitution.
While speaking on the ‘Legally Speaking’, Kartikeya Sharma in a pre-recorded video explained the idea behind “legally speaking”. He said, “One country one constitution one flag, that is the core for democracy and the legal community is the core of the core. We are here to build a community, in the mainstream media for you, a platform for jurists, with jurists and by jurists.”  
He further urged to get connected with the iTV›s ‘Legally Speaking’ platform and make this a serious platform for go to news and conversations. 
While discussing the Legally Speaking, Kartikeya Sharma shared the progress and consistency of the idea. «One hundred episodes of legally speaking have already been aired on NewsX, we are only prime time news show dedicated to the legal community. More than 100 dedicated columns have been published in the Sunday Guardian, more than thousand dedicated columns published in the Daily Guardian and now presenting a dedicated website and an application»
The MP further added, «The topic of law and media reminds me of the responsibility that the media has to report in a neutral manner. Keeping this fact in mind we started legally speaking 6 years ago a television programme which is now spawned into entirely legal community, comprising of legal show, mobile app, online radio, website and sections of the newspaper the Sunday Guardian and the Daily Guardian. ITV group is the only mainstream media company which has taken an initiative to cover legal issues, judgements, eminent jurists, judges from India and Noted states of America, law officers, have appeared on the network repeatedly over the past 6 years since legally speaking was started.»
Subsequently, Justice Kant spoke on the topic of constitutional morality and law and media.
He said, «Constitutional morality as a concept may slightly be difficult to define at the best of times, we have heard it in several occasions in a series of judgments of great importance for the interpretation of the constitution.” The first citation of this concept predates almost by 50 years when Justice A.N. Roy and Justice Jaggan Mohan Reddy stipulated first notion in the constitutional morality in the most celebrated adjudications in Anand Bharti case. 
He further added, «The thrust of the notion of the constitutional morality in case of Anand Bharti appears in terms of adherence to democratic values. As we know the constitution is the foremost document that seeks and works to uphold democracy, the rule of law and the fundamental rights of the citizens.»
