Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman S. Somanath, who recently oversaw the successful soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon’s south pole, was warmly welcomed on an IndiGo flight. A video of the moment, shared by air hostess Puja Shah on Instagram, has gone viral.
In the video, Shah announces Somanath’s presence over the flight’s PA system, prompting enthusiastic applause from passengers. “We are proud to have you on board, sir. Thank you so much for making India proud,” she said.
The Chandrayaan-3 mission has positioned India as the fourth country to achieve a lunar soft landing and the first to reach the moon’s uncharted south pole. Neither IndiGo nor ISRO have disclosed details about the specific flight Somanath was on.
