The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that it successfully shot down six rockets launched on Israeli territory by terrorists based in Lebanon. Artillery fire was then directed at the launch sites by IDF forces. Meanwhile, US National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby expressed concern on Monday (local time) about reports that Israel used US-supplied white phosphorus munitions in an October attack in southern Lebanon.
Speaking to reporters on the way to Philadelphia, John Kirby said the US will ask questions to learn more about it. He emphasized that the US provides material such as white phosphorus to another military with the full expectation that it will be used for legitimate purposes and in accordance with international law.
