According to Indian Navy authorities, the aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya is undergoing sea trials following a refit. They added that the trials should be completed shortly and that the aircraft carrier would then be ready to perform
operational duties.
The aircraft carrier is where the Indian Navy operates its MiG-29K fighter aircraft. The INS Vikramaditya, formerly the Kiev-class warship Admiral Gorshkov, was inducted into service in 2014. The flight deck of the 45,000-ton aircraft carrier can accommodate up to 20 MiG-29K fighters as well as utility helicopters. India currently possesses two aircraft carriers, the INS Vikramaditya and INS Viraat, and is working to build a third, the INS Vishaal, by the year 2030.
