INS SHIVAJI CONDUCTS VACCINATION DRIVE FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED

As a part of commemoration activities to be observed under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Swarnim Vijay Varsh”, Station Lonavla, under the aegis of, INHS Kasturi organised a COVID -19 mass vaccination drive for domestic helps and casual labourer as community outreach drive on Friday. Although the service personnel and the defence civilians and their dependants of the station have already been vaccinated, the drive was primarily aimed at vaccinating the casual labourers and workers who visit the station. The drive would benefit the under privileged against COVID-19 pandemic and would entice a sense of belongingness towards the Navy and the nation.

The camp was inaugurated by Cmde Arvind Rawal, Station Commander Lonavala in presence of Surg Capt Athar Mohd, CO INHS Kasturi. Total 155 personnel got vaccinated with Covaxin as first dose with the vaccines issued by DIO Pune. The entire vaccination drive was conducted with strict COVID-19 protocol. This mass welfare measure would go a long way towards pandemic free environment inside Station Lonavla.
