Industries Minister Uday Samant anticipates Rs 2.5L cr investment at WEF

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, accompanied by Industries Minister Uday Samant and a 10-member delegation, is set to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos. During the forum, they are expected to ink 20 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at securing an investment of Rs 2.5 lakh crore for the state.
This marks the Chief Minister’s second visit to Davos, where he will lead a delegation comprising senior officials from the Industries Department, MIDC, and the CM’s secretariat. Additionally, representatives from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority and Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology will be attending the conference independently.
Industries Minister Uday Samant expressed optimism about the potential investment, stating that the government aims to sign MoUs totaling Rs 2.5 lakh crore. The expected investments are spread across various cities in Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Pune, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Gadchiroli, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Jalna, and Raigad.
In the previous year, the state government inked MoUs amounting to Rs 1.37 lakh crore at the conference, with officials reporting that 83% of these MoUs have materialized on the ground. Minister Samant emphasized the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability, pledging to provide detailed information on expenditure and funds raised during the Davos visit.
He noted, “Our government is highly accountable and transparent. We will furnish comprehensive details of the funds utilized and raised at Davos. Last year, we signed an MoU worth Rs 1,37,000 crore in the WEF held last year.”
