Indian arrested with Rs 40 cr cocaine haul from Sierra Leone

Upon landing in Mumbai from Sierra Leone, an Indian national, residing in a Mumbai hotel, was apprehended with 4 kg of cocaine valued at Rs 40 crore, as per the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI).
Acting on precise information, the DRI team executed a search near the Mumbai airport, discovering the concealed drug in the accused’s travel bag. The suspect, flagged by the DRI for suspected drug smuggling, was tracked to a hotel and subsequently arrested. A detailed examination of his luggage revealed two packets containing a white powdery substance, confirmed to be cocaine through field testing. The accused faces judicial custody, and an ongoing investigation aims to apprehend additional syndicate members associated with him.
