India-Germany Boost High-Tech, Green Ties at 18th Asia-Pacific Conference

Union Minister Piyush Goyal underscored the potential for transformative collaboration between India and Germany during his address at the 18th Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business (APK) held in New Delhi. He noted that Germany’s expertise in precision engineering combined with India’s capabilities in scaling infrastructure could yield remarkable outcomes. Key collaboration areas include artificial intelligence, semiconductors, green technology, and India’s thriving startup ecosystem, which Goyal believes will accelerate growth and drive advancements across both nations.

Goyal assured global investors of India’s robust economic foundation, highlighting recent reforms and resilience. Addressing climate action, he emphasised India’s commitment to global climate goals, mentioning India’s significant standing on the Climate Change Performance Index and its progress beyond COP21 commitments. As a top player in climate action, Goyal noted that India’s efforts are geared toward both environmental sustainability and economic growth.

With the Asia-Pacific region, home to 60% of the world’s population and expected to encompass two-thirds of the global middle class by 2030, Goyal highlighted the conference’s role as a strategic platform for addressing emerging trends, exchanging best practices, and fostering innovation. He concluded with an optimistic view of Indo-German ties, quoting Rabindranath Tagore and Arthur Schopenhauer, and encouraging participants to embrace the cultural diversity of the season.
