India demonstrated how digital infrastructure is being developed to deliver solutions at a population scale during the meeting of the Group of Seven (G7) countries’ digital and tech ministers in Japan, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said today
India was invited to join the G7 Digital and Tech Ministers’ Meeting held in Takasaki, Gunma on April 29-30. Emerging and disruptive technologies, data flows and digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and internet governance. G7 is an intergovernmental forum comprising Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK and the USA. European Union is a non-enumerated member.
Vaishnaw represented India at the meeting , gave a presentation on the digital public infrastructure. India is clearly becoming a technology powerhouse and a reliable partner because of PM Modi ji’s innovative initiatives like Make in India and Digital India. Today, there is a lot of interest in the world to learn from India’s development as a technology powerhouse, Vaishnaw said upon his return.
Aadhaar, UPI, Cowin, and other use cases were displayed. Delegates from other nations were extremely impressed with India’s development and implementation of digital public infrastructure.India also provided an update on developing the indigenous 4G telecom progress in the rollout of 5G network. India committed to moving towards based on Open RAN 4G/5G communications stack.
India invited G7 countries to send their technical experts to examine India’s telecom infrastructure on global standards.
